Canadian reigning World Champions “Les Supremes” set new season’s best to lead after the short program

Canada’s Les Supremes continue to show why they are the reigning World Champions as they skated their way to a new season’s best of 77.72 in the short. Skating to Love is Blindness and Blinded by Love, they demonstrated great speed and artistry. Finland’s Helsinki Rockettes put in a strong challenge and are less than 0.6 points behind with 77.37, also a new season’s best. These two teams have a reasonably healthy lead to the third place team from the United States Skyliners at 69.62 who are closely followed by Team Unique from Finland.

Only the top two teams scored seasons’ bests with a number of errors affecting the other teams. Barring any unforeseen occurrences, the medals will be decided between the top 4 teams as they compete in the free program tomorrow but the final placement is anyone’s guess.
